Center Stage FXBG Youth Theater Group is a welcoming community for homeschool families where every child belongs and every voice matters. We exist to give youth ages 8–18 a place to explore the performing arts in a fun, supportive environment—no experience required.
Our program is built on the belief that personal growth matters more than perfection. Every child who joins us has a role to play, whether on stage or behind the scenes, and is an important part of the story we create together.

Center Stage FXBG is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization founded in 2026 to provide affordable, quality theatre arts education for the local homeschool community in Fredericksburg, Va. and surrounding areas.
About our Program
At Center Stage FXBG, our program is designed to give kids a fun, supportive place to explore theater, build confidence, and be part of something meaningful. Our season runs alongside the school year, with rehearsals beginning in September and ending with a full-stage performance in the spring. Throughout the season, students work together to bring a production to life—whether on stage or behind the scenes—while forming friendships and growing in confidence along the way.
We meet once a week on Thursdays from 2:00–4:00 PM, making it a consistent and manageable commitment for homeschool families. In addition to our spring performance, students will also have the opportunity to participate in a winter talent show—a fun and low-pressure event where they can showcase their individual talents and creativity.
We welcome students ages 8–18, and no prior theater experience is required. Every child who joins our program has a role to play and is a valued part of the group.
Because we keep our program intentionally sized to maintain a close-knit, supportive environment, space is limited. To join, families can complete our Member Interest Form below. If a spot is available, we will reach out to you promptly with next steps. If the current school year is full, we will add you to our waitlist and notify you when a spot opens up.

Where are rehearsals held?
Most Rehearsals will be held at a local church in downtown Fredericksburg (address will be given upon member enrollment) Auditions, Intensive Rehearsals & Winter Talent Show will be held at the Downtown Library.
I see you hold rehearsals in a church does that mean this program has religious affiliations?
No. Center Stage FXBG Youth Theater is not a faith-based program. We welcome students and families of all backgrounds, beliefs, and faiths. While most of our rehearsals and activities may take place in church facilities, this is simply because those spaces are available and supportive of community arts programs. Our focus is on providing a positive, inclusive, and enriching theater experience for all students.
When do you meet for rehearsals and for how long?
We will meet every Thursday from 2-4pm from September thru to the Spring Show, with breaks for the Holidays. Note there may be a handful of intensive rehearsals that may be an hour or so longer as the Spring Show nears. The week of the Show we will have dress rehearsals leading up to the show weekend, typically Thursday and Friday before the show and then show days are Saturday and Sunday.
What happens if we sign up for your program and decide it's not for us?
While we strive to make sure everyone enjoys our program, we certainly understand if you come to the conclusion that it's not the right fit for you and your child. You may cancel your membership without penalty prior to auditions. Once auditions have taken place and the cast has been made, if you choose to cancel your membership at that point your membership fee will be forfeited.
How much is the membership fee?
We try to keep our program as affordable as possible to ensure that everyone who wants to participate can. That said we do charge a yearly membership fee of $250 per child. This is for the entire year from September thru to the Spring Show.
I see you take ages 8-18, how will I know this program will be appropriate for my child on either end of this age range?
We strive to maintain a balanced mix of age groups within our program each season. Our goal is to create an encouraging environment where younger students can learn and grow alongside older performers while ensuring productions, classroom dynamics, and casting opportunities remain well-rounded for all participants.
Will I be required to Volunteer if my child is in your program?
Parent involvement is an important part of what makes Center Stage FXBG Youth Theater successful. As a nonprofit organization, we rely heavily on the support of our families to help bring productions to life. While volunteering is not required, it is very strongly encouraged, and we ask each family to contribute in whatever way they are able. Opportunities range from simple tasks such as donating concession items, helping promote shows, or securing sponsorships and donations, to more hands-on involvement with costumes, props, makeup, backstage assistance, and set setup during productions. Theater is truly a team effort, and the support of our parent community plays a vital role in creating a meaningful experience for our students.
